Hi Andy,

Welcome aboard! But I have a question based (probably) on not speaking
the same version of English as you do. What are the "conservatories" you
make? Around here, a conservatory is something like a concert hall or
museum or such.

Re the D. Stanley auctions, Yes I know them well, Have been over to a
couple and bid by mail in a few dozen others. Maybe you outbid me on
something - or vice versa.

Best Wishes,
Bob

Hi there i am 39 and work for a small company who manufacture hardwood
conservatories, being a carpenter/joiner by trade. I must admit to not
knowing a lot about this internet gubbins, so please forgive me if
things go pear shaped. On the subject of tools and tat I have been
collecting for about 12 years accross a broad spectrum of
trades.Whenever possible I like to get out there and see what I can
find at carboots, auctions, garage sales, flea markets, etc. As it
happens we spent 5 weeks visiting my girlfriends sister in San-diego
over the 2000/2001 holiday break and did my fair share of swapmeets and
yard sales ,we enjoyed every second!!.I live in Leicestershire U.K.and
stumbled accross your forum while I was searching for tool related web
sites and chat rooms. My hobby is collecting old tools and also
displaying them at vintage rallies. I do not know if you have heard of
DAVID STANLEY TOOL AUCTIONS but I attend all of his sales as they are
just up the road from my home.Okay sorry to be going on a bit here but
if you would not mind perhaps you could let me know of anymore useful
websites etc so that I can get more info about U.S.A. manufactured
tools I have in my collection i.e L.L.DAVIS and CHAPLIN'S PATENT
 planes. Many thanks, Andy (toolsntat)

Hi there Bob try:- http://www.classicconservatories.net/?adloc=ADWORDS
This is not where i work but at least it will give some idea of what we
make using Meranti. Also my exploits at D.Stanley Auctions as a rule
involve me parking up outside and selling a few bits&bobs. My latest
purchase from the sale was the out of print P-TAMPIA 1 in as new
condition. Cheers Andy
p.s. my first reply, hope it works out right!!
