I'm mostly a lurker on the Porch, but thought I'd update my bio. Things
have changed quite a bit in the past month. We've moved from Syracuse,
NY to the Memphis, TN area. Moving stinks, but southern hospitality is
certainly alive and well in Memphis. We enjoyed living in Syracuse, but
it's amazing how much different (and nicer) it is here.
I've found three woodworking retailers: Colco, That Wood Joint, and The
Woodworker's Store. That's two more than we had in Syracuse. I'm still
searching for a good source for rough cut lumber. I also haven't had
time yet to look for rusty tools. Any pointers on either of these would
be much appreciated.
The biggest disappointment about the Memphis area is the lack of
basements. My old shop wasn't big, but it was conveniently located in
its own space just down a flight of stairs. Now the tools are sharing
space with a minivan. That's going to take some time to get used to.
Thanks for listening.
