Well, with that extensive background, especially if you have a friend
who has or can get a bit of time on a metal milling machine, you might want
to check out the offering of St. James Bay Tool Co. on this side of the
pond or Bristol Design (in Bristol, natch) on your side.  They both sell
raw castings and all the miscellaneous bits....

Welcome to the porch!  There are several folks who have made their
own infills with commentary on websites if you would like to pursue
this further.
