A couple of years ago, I recall another galoot claiming to have converted
their t*bles*w into a lapping table. Don't 'member exactly who it was,
though...
Speaking for myself, my p*w*r jointer sits in an inaccesible corner of the
shop. Haven't even plugged it in in over a year. Besides being less
dangerous, hand jointing is lots more fun, there's no limit to the
dimensions of stock that can be worked, and I find I can do a better job &
quicker than I ever was able to do with the tailed finger shortener.
My first inspiration to "unplug the monster" was fellow galoot Ernie
Fisch, whose jointer is similarly indisposed.
