A few months ago I asked about making a miter plane. Seems as though FWW in
their July 2021 issue has an article for how to do this and uses a Lee
Valley plane blade kit that I bought on a whim years back.
As a quick look, it is a Krenov type woodie that is used on its side snd
had a skewed function from a clever triangular cut from one side which is
then glued to the opposite side to square up the plane.
Old woodie lovers be warned: you could use an old woodie as the starting
point.
They also added mass to the plane by putting tods of brass into the plane
body.
Anyway, worth a read.
