274254 gary allan may 2021‑07‑30 Ed Minch pours lead---
I'm re-sending this same MS with a different title:

Catey Minch, and gentle galoots everywhere:

This is the second to last note I got from Ed. I'll post the very last one
pretty soon. As long as there's a galoot alive, Ed will never be gone.

I don't get jealous easily, but I am green with envy that you are close enought
to attend the launching (or even just stop by for a look).  His videos have
pacing and he knows what to put in and what to leave out.  His humor is
contagious and he seems to attract competent and interesting help.  Watching
haave the brinze floors cast - yow.  It is a different boat than I might have
chosen for such an elaborate project, but it is a good one nonetheless.
Here is my lead disaster

And what it looked like the second time

The boat without it just before launch (1980)

The boat with it (2017)

I just watched two episodes in a row, on account of I forgot to watch for a
couple of weeks. First the episode with the lead spill on the keel pour. Thank
all the gods no one was standing right there when a half ton of molten metal
came pouring out from the middle of the form. I've dodged some major bullets in
my life, too, and I know just how you feel when you slip up that
catastrophically. But, NO harm done---except to the future's courage---and we're
so happy about that, all of us around the world.
The moving episode was just wonderful, and it's such a relief that Leo's put
paid to the nuisance neighbor whose peace is so disturbed that the law must be
invoked. I expect to attend any open house that may be presented in the next
year or so, and will probably bring a bottle of champagne to the launching.
Obviously, it won't be this summer, but It Will Be.  And how about that?
