Hi all:
I've been an intermittent reader of this list for a few months, after
being away from it for a number of years - so it's past time for me to
be posting an introduction.
I live in rural Nova Scotia, Canada and work as a computer programmer,
generally telecommuting. When I'm not in front of the computer, I
spend my time working on our house, making the odd piece of furniture,
etc. I work mostly with hand tools (of course), both for carpentry
and furniture work, although I do own a drill press (rarely used) and
thickness planer (rather more frequently used)..... :)
Here's an example of a recent project which was made with 100% hand tools:

Note that this image also gives you a nice shot of my Delta drillpress! :)
Right now, I'm just starting to build a number of window sashes from
some cypress that I was lucky enough to acquire - a project that I had
hoped to start almost exactly a year ago.........but then other
projects took priority. I'm sure this never happens to anyone else.
Anyway, I enjoy the conversations here on the porch, and have learned
a huge amount from them...and perhaps may be able to contribute myself
a little in the future.
