Bio on Greg Van Eeckhout

Hello, I work as an water quality consultant studying the water quality of
lakes and rivers. Apart from that I enjoy almost all forms of woodworking.
I made some custom duck calls on my lathe, build furniture and repair many
types of antique furniture and lately I have been doing more and more wood
carving, much of it related to furniture and ducks, fish, acanthus leaves
ect.. I also spend lots of time fishing and hunting ducks/geese.

I had never really though of myself as a collector of tools, rather just a
user. But now since I have more than I really need I must be a collector.
I have been accumulating Stanley planes and old wood carving tools, mostly
english in origin( Addis & Herring bros). I am an active user of the tools
so I do some taboo things like flaten and polish the soles of planes and
otherwise remove the rust and grime, besides in a quiet workshop I can hear
the tools crying out "use me, use me" : )

Oh and one quick gloat I got a type 1 stanley #95 edge trimming plane in
great condition in a box of assorted tools at an auction for only $15.
yipee!
