I like a hollow ground screwdriver tip.
Only the hollow grind is shallow and extends a --long-- way.
Its a very long barely hollow ground bevel, that might be confused
with a flat ground tip.
  But it really isn't.

Take a closer look. See the "flat" up the front from the tip to the
shank?
That is actually a very shallow arc, or hollow grind.
To get it you "rock" the driver and slide it up and down as you
grind, until you get to the very tip.

Whether its fancy work or just rehabbing any old driver, lay in onto
your wheel's face and "rock it".
Work your way to the tip.

The tip you end up with is not completely parallel, which is weak,
and its not a straight sided wedge, which cams out too easy.
Its inbetween,.....................its a shallow arc.

Its also easy to do once you have tried it a couple times. ;)

I'm confused.  How does a shallow arc turn out to be stronger than
parallel sides?  I'm not disputing the point; i just don't understand.

That's easy for you to say!  8-)

because a Serb shot an Austrian in Bosnia, Germany invaded Belgium.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I've been trying to do - with uneven
results...
