That's beautiful!  Doesn't matter what you had to pay, if you could afford it,
it's worth it.

A quibble though, I've heard all my life that Leroy developed the very first
combo square in the 1870s and founded the company to manufacture them and SO
much more in 1880.  Not so?

So intriguing with the filagree casting that I just couldn’t resist. Mis-id’d as
a Craftsman try square, turns out it is  union tool try square circa 1885,
predating the starret patent on a try square
And it was probably (exquisitly) re-japanned or was never used (not likely)
Sometimes you jus gotta trust yer gut eh?
