265489 Don Schwartz <dks@t...> 2018‑03‑17 Swedish card scrapers
I mentioned my favourite card scrapers - Sandviks - in a previous post.
I did a quick search and found various retailers selling Bahco scrapers
with the same product numbers as the Sandviks. Not surprising, since
Bahco bought them up. They are the same dimensions. I wonder if the
steel is as good?

As for thickness, the ones I like best are 0.025in, models 474-125-060
and 475-125-060 in the 125mm / 5in size. They're marked with the Sandvik
name and 'Made in Sweden'

The 474-150-060, 0.025 thick and 150mm/ 6in is good too. It's marked
with the shark symbol associated with Berg chisels, and "Sandvik AB
Sweden". I prefer the 5in models.

I don't like the 475-150-080 as much as the others. It's 0.031 thick,
marked Sandvik & "Made in Sweden"

I couldn't seem to lay hands on the thickest ones I don't like. I may
have hid them away somewhere for an occasion when I need to make a
shaped scraper for one-time use. I do have one like that somewhere which
I made for final shaping of some baseboards 20 yrs ago, but I couldn't
find it either. The rest of the herd are very thin shaped scrapers, and
a heavier French curve style none of which see much use.

I wonder if somewhere there exist type studies of Scandinavian scrapers
and chisels? I do like their edge tools.
