263846 Joe Jerkins <jerkinsjoe@g...> 2017‑11‑11 Bio Update: Joe Jerkins
Genteel Galoots,

Has it really been 9 more years since I last updated my bio?! I'm now 53
years old and still living in San Francisco with my wife who teaches
tambour beading and fine needlework. With our son off to college this past
August, we're now officially empty nesters. This really hasn't resulted in
that much additional shop time (yet) mainly because of work. I still work
at Genentech and, because I'm in a global support role, I frequently
travel. This has allowed me an occasional side trip to visit some cool
historical and old tool related sites. I'm a member of PAST, MWTCA and
SAPFM.

the waterfall live edge desk I built a few years ago for my son.

Nakashima's Conoid chair to go with it.

I enjoy the hunt for old tools and, while I've just started to sell some, I
still seem to end up with a net inventory gain. Being in the Bay Area, I'm
lucking to have a bunch of like minded galoots around. Besides occasional
get togethers, we have our annual early December pilgrimage to the Alameda
Flea Market to "hunt for rust" or as we call it, Flea BAG. .

Glad to be a part of the porch.
