166175 Clayton Bannan <oldtools@b...> 2007‑01‑01 BIO: Clayton Bannan
Hi Everyone, I want to take the time to introduce myself. My name is
Clayton and I am the step-son of Frank V. Frank died over a year ago and
I am now trying to help my mom sell off his tool collection. It hurts us
a little to sell off his possessions but the tools we hope will bring
joy to others. I have already started to put a few things on ebay. So
far I sold one piece with another offer on the table. Personally I like
old verse new tools. Frank was under the philosophy that old tools
should look like new. So I know he did restoration on many of his tools.
I quess there is good and bad restoration jobs. Frank was a mechanical
engineer so he seemed to know what he was doing. Anyway, he has sold
many tools through the years to many enthusiasts. It is hard to say what
restoration was done to some of his tools but I will try to be honest in
my ebay listings-- describing any pitting or signs of restoration. I am
an electrical engineer by trade but I dabble with mechanical stuff on
occasion as well. I would also like to learn more about woodworking so
that I can make quality products to sell for extra income. I work full-
time at Villanova University as a Computer Systems Engineer in the
Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. I have a wife and four
beautiful daughters. (So you can see that I can definitely use a little
extra cash in my life. :>) If anyone is interested in being added to a
mailing list or checking out our ebay listings you can email me back. I
hope I can post some of my questions about old tools here as well. This
venture of selling off Frank's personal collection might take years to
complete so your help with questions would kindly be appreciated. Thanks
again. Best Regards, Clayton

PS: I believe I belonged to this same mailing list back in the late 90's
when my step-dad and mom owned a brick-n-mortar store "The Hen
House" in Media, PA. So some of you might remember us. Its good to
be back on this mailing list. I have personally through the years
gain a better appreciation for old tools. I guess this is an
opportunity to acquire some tools for my own use as well.
