Bonjour!

Last week I spoke to a tool collector from Llano, Texas. He mentionned your
listserver. Furthermore, on the same day, Frederick Nakos sent me your email
address in an article written by Gary Roberts in Shavings. Thank you.

For at least 35 years I have collected old tools (I am old myself). I was
once a consulting civil engineer (environnement) who has retired a few years
ago. Most of the tools I have collected are now in different Museums.
However I still have a fair size collection which was started when I
retired. And I am always acquiring new pieces. I enjoy reading comments
about tools. I sometimes use my old tools to make special mouldings for the
restauration of antiques pieces of furniture. I also do some wood turnings
in connection with antiques. Twice a year I attend The TOOLS OF THE TRADES
ANTIQUE SHOW in Pickering Ont. where I have a table. (Next Show & Sale April
14,1996). However I must tell you that I buy more than I sell. Presentely I
am doing, with Robert Westley, some research work about a wonderful cabinet
maker and sculptor Cyrille Gosselin who made and used planes at the end of
the 18th century in Lauzon Que.

I am glad to say hello to all of you.

Jacques
