Hi GG's,

Been a while for me. I hope this finds you all well and enjoying your
summer, with a job if your not retired yet.

I seek advice on how to fix something that drives me nuts. Especially since
I have been using my LV 5 1/4 with its very fine depth adjustment mechanism,
boy I love that plane.

Three of my 4 bedrocks and my two other pre to WWII era Stanley bench planes
have small to very dished depth adjuster knob pressure faces leading to lots
of play in the depth adjustment. Since I'm tired of spinning the knob so
much to get my iron set where I want it I am hoping that any of you might
have any slick tricks or even slow tricks to shim or otherwise take up the
slack in these dished out brass depth adjustment knobs. (Other than
tweaking or twisting the yoke portion of the Y adjustment lever so one side
is against the up and the other the down side of the depth adjustment knob's
pressure faces. They look like cast metal.)

Has anyone tried brazing more material onto the pressure face?
